Choosing furniture for your home is never easy, especially when you want to create a truly unique space. What if you could literally customize your furniture down to the finest detail? That's what today's affluent consumer demands, and that's what Keystone Collections does perfectly.
Let's start, for example, with a simple table. Need it to seat 2? How about 12? Sturdy maple or rustic cherry? What color would you like that in, or texture, for that matter? How about a smooth finish or would you prefer the hand-hewn look that's so popular? And if that's not enough, just draw something up and send it over. They create each luxurious piece by hand and discreetly sign it just as any artist signs their masterpiece.
When Keystone Collections approached us about building them a new website, they shared with us all the frustrations they had with their old website. One major frustration included the website not fully showcasing the level of customization available in the furniture they crafted. So we set out to build them a new website that did just that.
We didn't just stop there. We got to know the craftsmen that make up Keystone Collections and we learned that not only was their furniture construction method complex, but the way they did business was equally so.
Take, for example, the hundreds of furniture dealers across the country that sell Keystone Collections. Each dealer wants a way to show the full line of furniture that Keystone has to offer, but they want to do it in a way that doesn't let customers easily stumble upon another dealer. To answer that need, dealers are now able to link to a co-branded version of the website without the locator feature.
From the creative to the development, every part of Inovāt's process revolved around solving the challenges we identified in our Research & Strategy which included some of the insights you read above. This meant that the biggest challenge was building a content management system (CMS) that was versatile enough to support every piece of furniture and all the possible customizations.
For this we chose ExpressionEngine, built on a powerful PHP framework that allows us to extend it from being just a simple CMS to a robust platform that will support the needs of our client.
The new Keystone Collections website is now the proud home of all the high-end furniture they create. For the first time, consumers can customize their furniture, add it to their wishlist and share it with a dealer; a process that used to involve catalogs and phone calls now takes a few clicks. Try it out for yourself and soon enough you may find yourself enjoying that 12-person, two-toned, handcrafted table your dining room has been waiting for.
